As the previous Associate Dean for Simulation and Chair of Surgery at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Kashmer brings a wealth of experience in both clinical practice and medical education. His impressive background includes fellowship training in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Abdominal Transplantation, certification as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt in Healthcare, an MBA with specialization in Healthcare, and service as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner.


He currently serves as the Chief Innovation Officer and Chair of Surgery & Specialty Medicine for the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (proposed by the Chicago School). Dr. Kashmer is also a Professor of Surgery. He has previously designed, implemented, and improved research programs that comfortably create more than 20 quality publications per academic year including textbooks, peer-reviewed journals, & intellectual property such as patents. Dr. Kashmer is proud to have achieved this with teams at multiple medical schools and graduate medical education training centers.
